In this Kentucky town of 3200, Lion Apparel employs over 140 people making fire fighter turnout pants and suspenders, turnout coat liners and turnout pant liners. They also produce fire fighter helmets. Since it opened in 1984, Lion and its employees have been concerned and active members of this Morgan County community. Lion donated a portion of its land for the new Morgan County Emergency Ambulance Service and Rescue Squad facility. It also has donated gear to volunteer fire departments in the area. As a member of the Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Lion and its employees are active participants in a myriad of community programs, including the School to Work Program; adult education through the Morehead State University Center; Head Start; Relay For Life fund raiser for the American Cancer Society; and the Walk Away From Violence Program.
