Many cities and organizations have taken formal or informal steps to ensure that vendors meet reasonable specified "no sweat" work environment standards. Lion Apparel firmly supports such actions. You have our assurance that Lion Apparel, our contractors, and our vendors consistently meet or exceed such reasonable standards.

Lion Apparel
As an occupational apparel manufacturer, distributor, and program manager for over 100 years, we are proud of our products, services, and work environment. Anyone who has been to any of Lion's facilities can see that the company and its employees have continued to create rewarding, enduring, and meaningful jobs during a time when apparel employment in the USA has been reduced by hundreds of thousands of positions. We believe Lion is a model for apparel companies to consider.

Beyond meeting legal requirements, Lion Apparel meets the needs of its customers, while continuously improving upon its already progressive work environment at all of its facilities. Fair and competitive wages; medical, dental and life insurance; 401(k) with matching company contributions; semi-annual bonuses; advancement and training opportunities; vacations and holidays; uniform allowances; sharing of financial performance information, and an open, participative, team-oriented work culture are some of the reasons why Lion and its employees believe it is an outstanding employer in the apparel industry. Additionally, Lion is a good corporate citizen in all of the communities where it operates, and many Lion employees are active community leaders and volunteers.

Lion Apparel and its employees welcome any of our customers, prospects, or business associates to visit any of our facilities to see first hand what a progressive company and capable employees can accomplish for their customers and each other.

Lion Contractors
All domestic Lion contractors are subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulatory enforcement reviews regarding matters that include the work environment. Our purchase orders require compliance with those laws and regulations. Visits by our own staff before and during the completion of contracted work help to ensure compliance with our own expectations regarding the work environment.

In some instances, domestic sources are not available or sufficient to meet the needs of Lion or its customers. We are careful to ensure that any non-domestic contractor Lion may use meets our expectations in providing a reasonable work environment. In part, this is done using an Apparel Vendor Assessment process. This process solicits information regarding numerous aspects of employment conditions that must be answered and must be verified as acceptable. Additionally, our purchase orders require such non-domestic contractors to be in compliance with local laws and regulations. Visits by our own staff or their representatives before and during the completion of any contracted work help to ensure compliance with our expectations regarding the work environment.

Lion Apparel customers, prospects, or business associates are welcome to review relevant completed Apparel Vendor Assessment documents. Appropriate confidentiality agreements must be signed to protect Lion's business interests and that of its contractors and vendors.

Lion Vendors
Lion Apparel has many vendors. Besides meeting cost, quality, and delivery objectives, we expect all of our vendors to meet reasonable standards regarding employment conditions. Our purchase orders require compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including those relating to safety and employment conditions. Because we value long-term relationships, our vendors typically have a history of reliable service, competitive value, and high quality performance. These enduring results are not achieved in oppressive working conditions.

As requested, we will work with our customers, prospects, and business associates to identify any relevant contractors or vendors we may use in a program. Appropriate confidentiality agreements must be signed to protect Lion's business interests and that of its contractors and vendors. We want to be advised of any reliable information regarding any failure of those business associates to consistently meet reasonable working environment standards.
